Bio

Nathan is a multi-instrumentalist & teacher who enjoys discovering and performing tunes from the 1920’s as well as creating interesting arrangements of songs from” The Great American Songbook”.

Following study in Cardiff Nathan has worked as a music teacher & performer. In 2011 he set up The Music Junction a unique music school which offers subsidized teaching and performance opportunities to schools and young people. Nathan is passionate that quality music tuition should be accessible and affordable to all irrespective of age. Music has a distinctive way of building life skills.

Nathan has performed throughout Gloucestershire & the southwest, having played with the Colwell Arts Jazz Ensemble, Hatherley Street Hotshots, and The Boiling Wells Hotfoot Jazz Band as well as leading his own projects.

Clarinet Marmalade

Five Foot Two or Do You Know What it means to Miss New Orleans are just two of the many fabulous songs from the 1920’s. Clarinet Marmalade designs arrangements which try to stay faithful without losing the energy and humour of the period. Whether it is the top tapping songs from Vaudeville or the early swing our performances always offer something different.

N.K Jazz Quintet

Is a swing Jazz Ensemble rehearsing and performing great songs from the 1940s Swing Era together with contemporary ballads and arrangements of modern classics. Introducing some modern harmonies, twists to form and instrumentation our performances always try to offer something different.

Acoustic Remedy

Acoustic Remedy is a band performing vintage styled Café Music. Performing a mixture of early jazz, Vaudeville and European traditional tunes, the instrumentation aims to mimic the period with a truly acoustic sound .Using an eclectic mix of instruments which includes Violin and Mandolin our energetic performances are characterized by syncopated rhythms, subtle modulations and percussive drive.
